Vojtěch Halama

Vojtěch Halama is a PhD candidate at the Department of World History, Charles University, Prague. He has also studied with Erasmus+ programme at various Irish universities: NUI Galway (2015 and 2018), Maynooth University (2016), University College Dublin (2019). His academic interests lie in modern and contemporary history of the island of Ireland, with particular focus on commemoration of the Irish revolutionary decade – the topic of his dissertation – and on visual culture (his MA thesis examined murals in Northern Ireland as a primary source).

He teaches and co-teaches modules on modern Irish history, most recently Moderní irské dějiny v evropském kontextu (in Czech).

His popularising articles have appeared in journals Dějiny a současnost and Obscura.
